Manifold is a car part built in the engine to distribute the mixed gas following the car stroke. This used to be manufactured in various post processes using an aluminum cast in advanced countries.
Now, as the car body has been lightened and the manufacturing processes have been shortened to focus on the improvement of the unit price of the product, productivity, and functions, such advanced countries as Germany are developing new Manifolds. In the domestic car industry, the effects of competitiveness and cost saving are admitted and the Manifold product and moulds are under development.
The basic material is PA66+GF30%. The top and bottom type products are manufactured using Vibration Welding method.
The manifold mould is an injection mould with the functions to distribute mixed gas to the cylinders. This is situated in the car engine.

Assuming about 300,000 car units are built per one model, the substitution effect by replacing aluminum material with the localized plastic Manifold will be tremendous.

As plastic material, designing, and moulding technologies are developed further, many substitute items from car Manifolds to various parts are expected to be developed
Based on experience in mould manufacturing, imported moulds manufactured in advanced countries such as Germany were designed, modeled, and processed by domestic technology.
The initial Manifold mould designed in the engine had a simple shape. However, the products replacing the existing aluminum Manifolds should be installed under the same specs as the car engine installation parts.
Thus, the domestic technologies such as securing space with tools, basic technology development and 3D-shaped processing.

The high precision moulds such as semi-conductor bits moulds and connector moulds are localized.
Further research and review are done for the development of the substitute items for the imported products and localization.
